Five recruits LSU football fans should know as the race for the No. 1 class heats up (2025)

LSU football's 2026 recruiting class is the best in college football. The Tigers' class ranks No. 1 in the On3 Industry Team Rankings. The Tigers have nine commits, including seven four-stars and one five-star.

LSU's average recruit has a rating of 92.48 -- only Alabama's recruiting class has a better average recruit rating.

But LSU isn't done yet. We're about to enter the peak of recruiting season as the Summer approaches. Most recruits prefer to be early enrollees these days, which means top prospects want to have the process over and done with before their senior year of high school. Last year, most top prospects were off the board before September.

2026 could play out in a similar way. Brian Kelly and staff will add a handful of recruits to the 2026 class in the coming months. Here are five recruits LSU football fans should know as the race for the No. 1 college football recruiting class heats up.

Four-star cornerback Havon Finney

Finney is one of the top cornerbacks in the class. ESPN ranks the California prospect as a five-star while On3, 247Sports, and Rivals slot Finney as a four-star. The On3 Industry Rankings place Finney No. 6 at his position.

Prying the four-star from Los Angeles could be tough, especially with the momentum USC has on the recruiting trail, but LSU secondary coach Corey Raymond has landed elite defensive back talent from California before. In 2020, California five-star Eli Ricks signed with LSU.

Finney visited LSU multiple times this spring and the Tigers are in the thick of the race for the blue-chip corner.

FIve-star lineman Lamar Brown

Lamar Brown is a five-star and the No. 1 recruit in Louisiana. That makes Brown LSU's top priority. He remains on the board, but the On3 Prediction Machine gives the Tigers a 97% chance of landing Brown's services.

Brown is a standout on the offensive and defensive line. It's unclear whether he'll play offense or defense at the next level. Recruiting sites project Brown as an offensive lineman, but earlier this year Brown said he wanted to play defensive line.

Players with the size and athletic ability of Brown are in rare supply on both sides of the ball. Given Brown's recruiting ranking, adding Brown to LSU's class would bolster the Tigers' chances of finishing with the No. 1 overall class.

Four-star wide receiver Boobie Feaster

LSU's wide receiver class is already the best in the country. LSU has the No. 1 WR in the class, Tristen Keys, along with Jabari Mack, Kenny Darby, and Jakai Anderson. All four players are blue-chip recruits. It's getting crowded, but LSU can make room for a talent like Feaster.

Feaster was originally one of the top players in the class of 2027 before reclassifying to 2026. According to the On3 Industry Rankings, Feaster is the No. 4 WR in the class of 2026. Rivals and ESPN both rank Feaster top three at his position.

Feaster is from Texas, and the Tigers have to battle Texas and Texas A&M, but the Tigers are in a good spot here.

Five-star offensive linemen Immanuel Iheanacho

Immanuel Iheanacho is the No. 2 overall recruit in the class. LSU hasn't been a huge player here, but Iheanacho took a visit to LSU last month and included LSU in his top seven schools. There's a chance here.

Iheanacho hails from Baltimore, Maryland. Regional schools like Penn State and Maryland have been considered the front runners, but LSU can make a national push. Tigers' offensive line coach Brad Davis is one of the top recruiters in the country.

Don't bet on LSU winning this one, but its worth monitoring if LSU begins to make a push this Summer.

Three-star offensive lineman Donel Robinson

Brad Davis has had success recruiting offensive linemen from Mississippi. Tyler Miller, one of LSU's top 2025 recruits, was a Mississippi native.

Now, Davis and the Tigers are in a good position with three-star Mississippi OL Donel Robinson. According to the On3 Industry Rankings, Robinson is the No. 41 ranked interior offensive lineman in the class and a top 500 overall recruit.

Ole Miss is considered the favorite here, but don't count Davis and LSU out.
