Dr. Tsvetov’s education in the field of oral surgery
Dr. Tsvetov was raised in Fremont, California, where his family moved from Ukraine. He graduated from UCLA in 1996 with a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry. From there he went on to pursue his dreams of becoming an oral surgeon.
He completed his graduate education at the Columbia University School of Dentistry with flying colors. During his time there, he was awarded the Health Professions Scholarship from the U.S. Army, which covers the cost of tuition for outstanding students, who are then required to work for the military after graduation. This is where Dr. Tsvetov earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 2001.
Next, Dr. Tsvetov completed his oral surgery residency training program at the University of Texas, Southwestern Medical Center/Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas. There he got a deeper understanding of the field of oral and maxillofacial surgery, including cutting-edge methodology, potential complications, medication management, aftercare protocols, and more. He also took the opportunity to complete a general surgery internship. In 2004, he graduated with a medical degree from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School and he finished his residency in 2007.
After completing his studies, Dr.Tsvetov got into the U.S. Army Dental Corps, gaining the rank of major. He served as the Officer in Charge of the Heidelberg Health Center Dental Clinic and the Chief of the Oral Surgery Departmentstationed in Heidelberg, Germany. This experience added to his education to shape him into an accomplished specialist in oral and maxillofacial surgery.
He returned to the United States after receiving an honorable discharge from the Army. He first set up his private practice in Massachusetts. Eventually, he decided to come back to his home state of California and establish his dental office in Riverside County.
Dr. Tsvetov’s recognitions and qualifications
Dr. Tsvetov is valued by his colleagues for his contributions to the field. He takes part in different conferences on dental health across the United States, where he gets a chance to share his experience and enhance his expertise in oral and maxillofacial surgery.
He earned the Army Commendation Medal and multiple recognitions while serving in the Army. These recognitions are only awarded to those who show an exceptional commitment to their service.
Also, Dr. Tsvetov is a Fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the leading US association for oral and maxillofacial surgeons and a member of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, which only allows admittance to the finest experts in the field.

Dr. Tsvetov is a committed oral surgeon at the office but when he’s off duty, he’s a devoted husband and the father of two young daughters. When he’s not at work or spending time with his family, he likes working out, skiing, and traveling.
