Miss Buckner is the granddaughter of Ira and Kathryn Foote of Greenville, and Callie Buckner of Raleigh and the late Kermit Buckner. Mr. Pollard is the grandson of Jean Thompson of Salisbury, and the late Alvin Waller, and Felix and Ruth Pollard of Hickory. Miss Buckner is a graduate of North Carolina State University.

She is employed with Crittenden Advertising. Mr. Pollard is a graduate of North Carolina State University. He is employed with Merrill Lynch Private Client Group. The wedding is planned for October 14, 2000 at Hayes Barton Baptist Church in Raleigh.

Lewis Speight Morris Jr. of Chapel Hill announce the engagement of their daughter, Elizabeth Lacy Morris, of Charlotte, to Kendrick Ware Mattox III, also of Charlotte. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Kendrick Ware Mattox Jr.

of LaGrange, Georgia. Miss Morris is the granddaughter of Mr. Charles Franklin Myers Jr. and the late Mrs. Myers, and Mr.

E. Mullins McLeod of Walterboro, South Carolina, and Mrs. Kendrick Ware Mattox of LaGrange, Georgia and the late Mr. Mattox. Miss Morris is a teacher with the Charlotte Mecklenburg School System.

George Height. Parents of the groom are Mrs. Dorothy Branch and the late Mr. John West Branch. The bride is a graduate of The University of North Carolina at Greensboro, and is currently pursuing her Masters in Nursing at The University of North Carolina at Greensboro.

She is employed as a nurse at Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro. The groom is a graduate of the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff. He received his Masters from The University of Arkansas at Little Rock and is currently a PH. candidate in Electrical Engineering at North Carolina A University. After a honeymoon trip to Saint Maarten in the Caribbean, the couple will live in Greensboro.
